COLORADO SPRINGS. Bishop Michael Sheridan is asking the faithful of the diocese to observe two days of prayer for peace during the month of September. On Sept. 9, the diocese will participate in a Day of Prayer for Peace in Our Communities, an initiative of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Sept. 9 is the feast of St. Peter Claver, a Spanish Jesuit priest known for his ministry to slaves. On Sept. 11, the diocese will observe the 15th anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks by praying at Mass for the preservation of peace and justice.
